Early Spaceports is dedicated to my FAA and NASA friends from the weekly NASA telecon. That’s what we called it at the FAA. I believe the NASA folks called it the FAA telecon.
I still get the notion at 9 a.m. some Wednesdays that I should be picking up the phone, punching in passcodes, and getting ready to talk about commercial crew, government astronauts, whether there is a presumption against implied repeal, and how you tell which law is the specific and which the general even as you’re willing to agree that the specific overrides the general. Some of that shows up in Early Spaceports, and I confess I very much hope those of you from that call enjoy the story. You guys might recognize a thing or two even though the story applies the rules to a different set of facts.
What’s it about? Well, since you ask:
In the late 21st century, orbital industry floods the world with riches, riches which can wash up against the unsuspecting just as readily as they accrue to those who reach for them.
With his love for his girlfriend, his passion for the law, and his situation in a good firm, Eli Fisher possesses all that a man could need at the start of his legal career. He doesn’t expect it to change when a billionaire who runs orbital powersats hires him for an art project.
But this art project comes with all kinds of strange, and it requires a pawn.
A short story.
It’s bought. Was going to use KULL to read it but thought… yeah, encourage the author. I’ll read it later today.
Thank you kindly! I hope you enjoy it. Also, don’t worry, authors get paid through KULL by pages read, so whatever works for you.
