I’m super excited to attend Dragon Con, one of — if not the — biggest science fiction conventions around. This weekend will be my first time, and I am in awe of the size of it, tens of thousands of attendees and four hotels in Atlanta, Georgia. Wow.
I will be on two panels. You will recognize me because I’ll be the one talking about space law. They are:
Saturday September 1
Title: Why Haven’t We Been to Mars…YET!
Time: Sat 02:30 pm Location: 212-213 – Hilton (Length: 1 Hour)
Description: The raging question within the space community is not SHOULD we go to Mars but WHEN WILL WE go to Mars? So then, why haven’t we? Money? Radiation? Infrastructure? Personal issues? Let’s hear from the experts!
Panelists: Esther Beltran, Andy Dykes, Erin Macdonald, Laura Montgomery, Prof. Orlando, Kim Steadman
Sunday September 2
Title: Challenges of the Outer Space Treaties to Space Settlement
Time: Sun 10:00 am Location: 212-213 – Hilton (Length: 1 Hour)
Description: The world is now truly in the Space Age. Beyond the rockets & astronauts, a LOT of government, commercial & academic institutions the world over are involved in space, which means lawyers & treaties to be worked out. How will so many competing interests affect future human space settlements?
Panelists: Dauna L Bartley, Laura Montgomery, Nick Eftimiades
If you feel like saying hi, please do!
Best of luck to you, Laura, and enjoy your opportunity to being among all these space fans! A great opportunity for them to learn about space law! The arm of the law is long, and reaches to outer space… Peace!
Thanks, Sylvia!
Oh. My. Gosh!
I so wish I could be there. I’m impressed you’ll be a DragonCon rising star! And really proud of you, Laura.
From the humble beginnings of LibertyCon, Chattanooga, she’s evolving.
Don’t forget us little folk.
If you need any graphic artwork, let me know. I’m sure I could swing a trip down there to deliver.

I brought the bookmarks you designed for me. They’re still beautiful!
