The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Adminsitration (NOAA) announced a meeting of its advisory committee scheduled for March 18. The meeting will cover:
updates on NOAA’s Commercial Remote Sensing Regulatory Affairs activities and discuss updates to the commercial remote sensing regulatory regime. The Committee will be available to receive public comments on its activities.
Perhaps NOAA will address whether it plans to go forward with its ambitious jurisdictional expansion in which it proposes to require remote sensing licenses for anyone capable of sensing the Moon or other celestial bodies, in accordance with its notice of proposed rulemaking from last year.
Date: The meeting is scheduled for March 18, 2020, from 9 a.m.–4 p.m., with a one hour lunch break at 12 p.m.
