{"id":392,"date":"2017-04-06T10:05:35","date_gmt":"2017-04-06T14:05:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/groundbasedspacematters.com\/?p=392"},"modified":"2017-04-06T10:06:49","modified_gmt":"2017-04-06T14:06:49","slug":"deadline-extended-in-fcc-satellite-rulemaking","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/groundbasedspacematters.com\/index.php\/2017\/04\/06\/deadline-extended-in-fcc-satellite-rulemaking\/","title":{"rendered":"Deadline Extended in FCC Satellite Rulemaking"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>If you are following the Federal Communications Commission&#8217;s rulemaking for Non-Geostationary, Fixed Satellite Service System and Related Matters, the FCC extended <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gpo.gov\/fdsys\/pkg\/FR-2017-04-06\/pdf\/2017-06483.pdf\">the deadline for reply comments on its proposal until April 10:<\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>the International Bureau, pursuant to delegated authority,extends the deadline for reply comments to be filed in response to a NPRM concerning potential changes to the U.S. Table of Frequency Allocations contained in part 2 of the Commission\u2019s rules and to part 25 of the Commission\u2019s rules governing satellite communications. Interested parties will now have until April 10, 2017 to file reply comments.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>Unlike the Federal Aviation Administration, the FCC regularly provides an extra comment period.\u00a0 In the first comment period, any interested person may file comments on the agency&#8217;s notice of proposed rulemaking.\u00a0 Then, all these interested persons go and read each others&#8217; comments, are shocked and appalled or really like something they hadn&#8217;t thought of, and get another chance to comment to the FCC in reply to the first round of comments.
